The Communications Specialist at Coptic Orphans creates compelling donor communications, website content, and media-ready materials to support the organization's mission and fundraising goals. Working with the Communications Manager, the role ensures all output reflects the brand voice, editorial standards, and global impact.

Responsibilities include writing donor stories, program highlights, and event scripts; managing content libraries and SharePoint; coordinating SEO-aligned web copy; and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, communication, marketing or related field.
• 1–3 years of professional content creation, journalism or copywriting experience.
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling with adaptable tone for donors and web content.
• Strong research skills via interviews with staff, beneficiaries, and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of nonprofit comms, donor engagement, and fundraising dynamics.
• Familiarity with website content management and basic SEO writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Detail-oriented, organized, able to manage multiple writing projects and deadlines.
• Arabic language skills are a plus for content related to Egypt work; cultural knowledge of Coptic culture is required.

Responsibilities

• Produce donor-facing content and storytelling across newsletters, impact reports, stewardship materials, and thank-you letters.
• Craft storytelling pieces highlighting impact from beneficiaries, staff, and programs.
• Manage third-party fundraising websites and external audiences (e.g., Global Giving).
• Collect and maintain a library of impact stories, testimonials, and program narratives.
• Organize SharePoint folder structure and implement tagging/storage for materials.
• Write and maintain high-quality website content aligned with brand voice and SEO best practices.
• Write scripts and materials for fundraising events and support campaign copy needs.
• Draft press releases, pitches, and media announcements for US market audiences.
