Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 21+ years old; valid Texas driver’s license.
  • TCLEOSE license; must pass physical agility test.
  • Strong communication with the public, supervisors, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and arrest suspects and perpetrators of criminal acts.
  • Record facts and prepare incident reports.
  • Review facts to determine legal violations.
  • Render aid to accident victims and provide first aid.
  • Testify in court and present evidence.
  • Patrol designated areas and respond to calls.
  • Monitor and report suspicious activity; manage traffic.
  • Direct traffic and provide road information.
  • Process prisoners and maintain booking records.
  • Inspect establishments for compliance; uphold department policies.
