Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC) seeks a Commercial Credit Underwriter to independently analyze, underwrite, and prepare credit memorandums for small business and commercial loan requests.

The role evaluates tax returns, financials, cash flow, collateral, and guarantor strength to determine repayment ability and risk. You will develop loan structures, identify risks, and prepare comprehensive written credit presentations for Senior Credit Officer and Loan Committee.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial lending or underwriting.
• Experience analyzing business tax returns, personal tax returns, and financial statements.
• Experience with SBA lending programs, including SBA 7(a).
• Ability to independently evaluate and structure commercial loan requests.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and prepare credit memorandums for loan requests.
• Evaluate tax returns, financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and debt service.
• Develop loan structures and present credit recommendations to leadership.
• Monitor portfolio and perform annual reviews of existing loans.
• Lead weekly pipeline meetings and mentor junior analysts.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and SBA guidelines.
