Job summary

The Town of Groton seeks a Sustainability and Resilience Manager to lead a two-person division in the Planning, Development, and Public Works Department. You will implement Climate Ready Groton, driving strategies to reduce emissions and costs while advancing carbon neutrality for municipal operations.

Ideal candidates bring a Master’s degree in a related field with 8+ years of experience, strong community engagement skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-departmental initiatives and grant

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Sustainability, Planning, Environmental Science, Sustainable Business, Engineering, Public Administration or related field.
• Eight (8) years of experience, or a combination of education/experience.
• Knowledge of climate change and implementation of Climate and Sustainability Action Plans.
• Community engagement and partnership development.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Climate Ready Groton, a town-wide action plan to reduce carbon footprint.
• Lead and manage the Sustainability and Resilience division within the department.
• Oversee grants and partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
• Integrate climate preparedness into planning, projects, and permit review.
