Qualifications

• Must meet NC state teacher certification eligibility requirements.
• 2+ years successful teaching experience preferred.
• Prefer endorsement/certification in Reading, ESOL, or special education.
• Must acquire certifications within 6 months after employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct special education instruction to identified students.
• Plan, prepare, deliver, and direct instructional activities that engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Maintain knowledge of and implement state standards-based curriculum.
• Provide vocational/career instruction as required and foster a positive learning climate.
• Participate in development and revision of IEPs as required by IDEA.
• Conduct testing, monitor student performance data, and use results to improve outcomes.
• Maintain accurate student records and essential instructional materials.
