Job summary

Easterseals Redwood in Kentucky is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support young learners, including those with special health care needs. You will collaborate with the ECE Lead and caregivers to implement activities aligned with student goals and licensed practices.

The role includes daily meal prep, classroom upkeep, documentation, family outreach, and participation in meetings. Starting pay is $15.50 per hour with PTO, health/dental/vision, 401(k) with company match, and 10 paid holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Experience working with children with special health care needs is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with ECE Lead and other caregivers to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the individualized goals of the child and the program.
• Collaborates with other staff to create and maintain room arrangements, learning centers, and consistent routines to safely engage children and maximize learning.
• Guides developmental growth of children to support achievement of learning objectives through age-appropriate play, sensory experiences, fine/gross motor activities, music/art, and language/communication activities.
• Assist with the accurate and timely completion of documentation, including attendance records, individualized goals, service notes, family reports, incident reports, and food service forms.
• Implements behavior management programs as directed.
• Attends meetings as assigned.
• Assists with shared duties of the program (snacks/meals preparation and cleanup, laundry, cleaning toys and furniture).
• Supports efforts to educate and train parents/guardians/other caregivers regarding child development and daily care.
• Communicates pertinent information to caregivers about progress and encourages sharing priorities and concerns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
