Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Columbia, MO is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join the Recovery Services team on an overnight, full-time basis. You will draw on your own recovery journey to support clients and work with clinicians, families, and community partners to enhance recovery outcomes.

You will help clients identify strengths, create plans, and access community resources while maintaining accurate progress notes and participating in team meetings.

Qualifications

• Certified Missouri Peer Specialist certification is required.
• Experience using recovery-oriented approaches and peer-led supports.
• Ability to document progress and maintain client records.
• Strong communication with treatment teams and families.

Responsibilities

• Share personal recovery story to inspire and motivate clients.
• Provide emotional support and validation to clients.
• Identify client strengths and resources to aid recovery.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with the team.
• Assist clients in setting goals and envisioning future possibilities.
• Provide information about community resources and accompany to appointments.
