Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to establish and coordinate activity programs for patients, tailored to their physical abilities, with support from the clinical administrator. The role emphasizes designing and implementing safe, effective exercise plans.

You will review patient histories, prescribe appropriate classes, and contribute to clinical education for the medical team, while engaging in department meetings and patient surveys to improve outcomes and quality

Qualifications

• Master's degree in physical education, sports medicine, exercise physiology, exercise science, or physical therapy.
• Board certification by ASEP is preferred.
• Experience in aerobic teaching and with obesity-related conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains understanding of each patient's physical limitations.
• Reviews patient medical history and activity levels.
• Designs and prescribes appropriate exercise programs and classes.
• Develops group exercise events and motivates attendance.
• Designs and presents clinical education for medical team members.
• Participates in department meetings.
• Designs patient surveys.
• Other duties as assigned.
