Job summary

Washington County Schools (TN) seeks an Assistant Coach for high school and/or middle school to assist in designing and implementing the athletic program for the assigned sport in accordance with applicable rules.

The role emphasizes supervision of students during practices and games, maintaining discipline, serving as a positive role model, and collaborating with the head coach, athletic director, and principal to support student-athlete development.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience in the assigned sport is desired.
• Knowledge and background in the assigned sport.
• Must serve as a positive role model for student-athletes through instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of students during all aspects of the program.
• Be present at all practices, games, and while traveling.
• Direct student managers, student assistants, and statisticians.
• Assist with game strategy, conditioning, and weight programs as needed.
• Maintain discipline and morale within the sports program.
• Follow proper channels to report concerns and communicate with parents.
