Job summary

AgWest Farm Credit is seeking a Credit Underwriter I or II (Credit Analyst) to join our Arizona Lending and Insurance department in Safford, Tempe, Yuma or Imperial, CA. This full-time role reports to the SVP, Credit and delivers sound credit analysis for simple to moderately complex loans.

You will gather financial information, analyze statements and tax records, support client relationships, participate in Large Loan processes, and assist with loan closings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or ag related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 years accounting or financial industry experience.
• Knowledge of applicable credit laws, bankruptcy law and collection procedures.
• Ability to market, sell, and effectively negotiate terms on AgWest products in writing and verbally.
• Knowledge of appraisal techniques and sound loan administration practices.
• Understanding of credit classifications and risk parameters.

Responsibilities

• Gather financial and business information from customers through interviews and records.
• Analyze financial statements, tax records and pro forma statements to assess credit.
• Analyze credit and prepare analyses for small to mid-sized portfolios and provide recommendations.
• Support customer relationships by marketing and servicing financial products.
• Participate in large loan processes and loan closings as needed.
• Conduct site visits and inspect collateral; perform industry research.
