Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio is seeking mentors/tutors for Lorain County after-school programs for the 2026-27 school year. These part-time roles report to Club and Program Directors and provide engaging, safe experiences for youth aged 6-18, focusing on character, leadership, and academic skills.

Typical schedule is Monday to Friday, 2 pm–7 pm, 20–25 hours per week, with starting pay of $20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

18 years of age or older with a High School diploma or GED.
Prior experience working with youth in a paid or volunteer capacity such as mentoring, tutoring, coaching, or teaching.
Ability to motivate youth and implement positive behavior management practices.
Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to relate to and work well with others.
Excellent planning skills to organize, plan/implement, and monitor youth programs in a safe environment.
Final candidates must clear a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement daily programming content targeted toward character, leadership development, career readiness, and academic success.
Create an engaging and safe environment that facilitates mentoring and tutoring outcomes.
Utilize provided programming resources to create age-appropriate lessons for small groups (~10).
Maintain accurate program records and complete requested reports, surveys, and assessments timely.
Facilitate direct communication between Tutor, Club Director, and Program Director to ensure program efficiency.
