Job summary

Charles Wright Academy is seeking a part-time Middle School Academic Support Specialist to work with 5th-grade students, teachers, and families. The role focuses on direct instructional support, differentiation, and coordination of accommodations within the Middle School Learning Support Team.

The position reports to the Director of Wellness and Student Support. It requires collaboration, confidentiality, and a commitment to the school’s inclusive values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary or Middle Level Education required.
• Master’s degree in Special Education, Reading/Math intervention, or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting 10–12-year-old learners in a school setting is expected.

Responsibilities

• Direct Student Support: provide individual and small-group instruction.
• Instructional Differentiation: adapt materials and implement support strategies.
• Assessment & Accommodations: coordinate testing accommodations and support plans.
• Team Collaboration: participate in Middle School Student Support Team meetings.
• Family & Staff Communication: maintain professional communication with families and teachers.
• Classroom & Culture Support: promote self-regulation and a sense of belonging.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
