Job summary

Covista is seeking the Specialist, Impact to support donor management, financial operations, compliance and grantmaking within the CovistaImpact function and CovistaFoundation.

You will work with Foundation leadership, accounting and legal teams to ensure excellence, compliance, and impact, including GiveSmart management, donation processing, invoicing, reports, audits, and filings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years in nonprofit operations, foundation administration, accounting, or related field.
  • Experience with donor management systems (GiveSmart or similar).
  • Strong financial acumen with accounting, reconciliations, and audit support.

Responsibilities

  • Administer donor management system; maintain donor files.
  • Process donations and issue IRS-compliant tax letters.
  • Manage pledge receivables; generate Board reports; assist reconciliations.
  • Oversee accounting functions including invoices and grant payments.

Job Description

As theSpecialist, Impact you will playa central rolein the day-to-day operations of theCovistaImpact function and theCovistaFoundation, supporting donor management, financial operations, compliance and grantmaking. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is passionate about social impact and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

TheSpecialist, Impactwill report to the Vice President, Impact andwill beanactive member ofCovista’sImpact team. Positioned within the Corporate Affairs department, theSpecialistpartners closely with the Foundation leadership, accounting, and legal teams to ensure theImpact function and theCovistaFoundationoperatewith excellence, compliance, and impact.

  • AdministerGiveSmartdonor management system;maintainaccurateand up-to-date donor files.
  • Process all donations and distribute acknowledgement tax letters in compliance with IRS requirements.
  • Build,trackand invoice all pledge receivables; generate reports for the Board of Directors and support monthly reconciliations.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including invoice and grant payment processing; collaborate with the accounting team on financials and cash flow management.
  • Maintain complete audit files; support reconciliations monthly,quarterlyand annually;assistwith annual audit and tax filing requirements.
  • Oversee state and federal fundraising registrations;monitorcompliance requirements and deadlines
  • Coordinate Board meetinglogisticsincluding scheduling, materialspreparationand distribution; draft andmaintainBoard meeting minutes.
  • Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and Foundation events; coordinate employee giving and volunteer engagement initiatives tied to Foundation priorities.
  • Manage relationships with Foundation vendors and service providers; track contracts,renewalsand deliverables to ensure compliance with agreements.
  • Conduct research on potential nonprofit partners and grantees to support Foundation strategy and pipeline development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies withall policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor'sDegreein relatedfieldor equivalentexperience.
  • Two (2) plus yearsin nonprofit operations, foundation administration, accounting, ora related field.
  • Experience with donor management systems (GiveSmartor similar) and nonprofit database administration.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in accounting functions, reconciliations, and audit support in a nonprofit or foundation setting.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit compliance requirements including IRS regulations, state fundraisingregistrationsand charitable solicitation laws.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with Board members,donorsand external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion andmaintainappropriate boundarieswith donors and stakeholders.
  • Passion for social impact and mission-driven work; genuine interest in philanthropy.
  • Track recordof working effectively across teams and with senior leadership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and action-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset; ability to adapt to evolving priorities and processes.
  • Works well under pressure;possessesa strong work ethic, soundjudgmentand the ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Contributes to a culture of collaboration,accountabilityand exemplary organizational performance.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office; experience with nonprofit accounting or donor management software preferred.
  • Experience in a matrixed or corporate foundation environment preferred.
Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $53,520.9 and $96,736.53. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
