Job summary

IBM seeks a software developer to enhance a classified ISR data and analytics service in the Washington DC area, primarily Reston, VA. The role involves improving algorithms, data quality, integrating new datasets, and expanding polyglot databases and event-driven micro-services.

You will interface with clients, military personnel, and data providers to ensure stakeholder buy-in and backlog population for future innovation, while maintaining modern CI/CD practices and on-prem infrastructure.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with TS/SCI clearance or eligibility
• Bachelor's degree in STEM fields
• 4+ years of Python or Java programming experience
• 4+ years designing applications in hybrid cloud or on-prem environments
• Experience with database technology and data validation
• Experience with custom ETL development (e.g. Apache NiFi)
• Experience designing algorithms to infer relationships between events or entities
• Experience prototyping end-to-end solutions on quick timelines that enable decisions and insights

Responsibilities

• Develop Predictive Models: Design and implement predictive models using optimization, discrete-event simulation, and rules programming; utilize IBM CPLEX and Gurobi for optimization and SPSS, SAS, R, Python for analysis.
• Analyze Diverse Data: Manage and analyze data types with Python; use Pandas, NumPy, Dask, and visualization with Matplotlib/Seaborn/Plotly.
• Deliver Data-Driven Insights: Apply machine learning, statistical modeling, and custom models for supply chain, pricing, risk, and fraud detection.
• Collaborate on Solution Delivery: Work with stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions and inform business decisions.
• Maintain Technical Expertise: Keep up with tools like Git, GitHub, GitLab, and CI/CD tools such as Docker, Podman, and Jenkins
