Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh is seeking a Program Manager, Research Accreditation and Policy to lead accreditation and post‑approval monitoring for human and animal research. You will collaborate with IRB, IACUC, COI, and IBC teams to develop policies and guidance that ensure regulatory compliance across all centers and campuses.

The role requires strong program management, policy development, and knowledge of federal regulations, with a focus on continuous improvement in research

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Five years' experience in research, project management, program management.
• Experience working with IRB, IACUC, COI and IBC professionals in an academic or consulting setting is valuable.
• Experience and understanding of federal regulations, accreditation standards and institutional requirements around academic research is valuable.
• Education paired with meaningful experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management for IRB and IACUC accreditation and reaccreditation activities.
• Coordinate internal teams and stakeholders for self-assessments and site visits.
• Track accreditation requirements, deadlines, and action items for timely outcomes.
• Support continuous readiness for accreditation and post-accreditation compliance.
• Develop, revise, and maintain institutional policies, SOPs, and guidance documents.
