Job summary

Texas Southern University invites applications for a Public Health Research Postdoctoral Fellow. This is a full-time, 3-year fellowship designed to develop independent investigators in public health via mentored research across interventional, epidemiological, and implementation studies.

Qualifications

• PhD in public health or related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience in intervention research, grant writing, and leading authorships.
• Desire to pursue an academic career and become an independent investigator.

Responsibilities

• Participate in formal research training curriculum, seminars, and workshops in public health or related fields.
• Conduct research activities, including recruiting/enrolling participants, data collection, IRB submissions; support pragmatic evaluations, grant reporting, and budget management.
• Prepare and submit manuscripts for publications and present research findings at local and national conferences.
• Engage with community partners, public health agencies, and international collaborators to support program goals.
• Mentor and supervise Master’s and PhD students in study design, statistical analysis, and academic writing.
