IMOSC Systems Administrator/Engineer (Expert)

IMOSC Systems Administrator/Engineer (Expert) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) seeks a seeks a IMOSC Systems Administrator/Engineer (Expert) to serve on the Global Positioning System (GPS) IIF program, within our Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SIWS) division located at Schriever Space Force Base, about 10 miles east of Colorado Springs. GPS is a satellite-based radio-navigation system owned by the United States government and operated by the United States Space Force and is the world's first global utility. GPS provides position, navigation, and timing (PNT) data to military and civilian users globally with countless applications and an unlimited number of users. Boeing has over 45 years of history in GPS, including achieving full system capability in 1995. The current Boeing team supports the US Space Force by sustaining and monitoring the health and capabilities of the 12 GPS Block IIF satellites in the GPS constellation, launched from 2010 to 2016. The Boeing GPS sustainment team also provides support to our U.S. Space Force customer with reports and expertise on all aspects of the GPS system. Sustainment efforts will continue through the life of the Block IIF satellites, with a design life expectancy to 2031 and beyond. The program currently operates under a 10-year sustainment contract, from 2022 to 2031. As IMOSC Systems Administrator/Engineer, you will be a key member of a high-performing team engaged in critical projects related to the GPS IIF satellite constellation and supporting systems. As a member of our team, you will perform configuration management, system integration and reliability of hardware and software to include installation/repairs, and configuration and maintenance of domain system components to support the GPS architecture. This role will provide problem resolution and technical support for our classified systems. This position will support the maintenance, reliability, validation, and configuration management of computing delivery systems. This role will focus on maintaining and monitoring system performance to support and improve reliability of the GPS operational mission. As reliability an administrator, you will play a crucial role in integrating logistics, automation, data analytics, technological advances, and engineering into an ecosystem that supports the mission while meeting modern cybersecurity requirements.

Position Responsibilities
  • Administer and support the GitLab platform, including automation, configuration management, and maintenance
  • Develop and sustain automation and scripting tools to improve system administration, reliability, and operational efficiency
  • Perform system monitoring/analysis, and report system performance metrics, trends, and reliability issues using dashboards and data analytics tools
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot multi-platform systems, including hardware, software, virtual machines, and databases in a mixed domain/enterprise environment
  • Support cybersecurity compliance, vulnerability remediation, configuration management, and system integration activities
  • Assist with application deployments, upgrades, disaster recovery planning, and restoration efforts
  • Support mission operations and test activities while ensuring system performance and reliability requirements are met
  • Prepare technical documentation and assist with system, cybersecurity, and related administrative tasks
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Active interim or final U.S. Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications
  • Current Security+ certification
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Windows Enterprise Domain Systems Administration experience to include Active Directory/LDAP management
  • Scripting/Programming Proficiency. Python and Powershell preferred
  • Experience in Gitlab Platform and its administrative functions
  • Understanding of data analytics and business intelligence principles
  • Experience in troubleshooting and restoration of computing service operations
  • Ability to solve problems with critical thinking and a strategic approach for problem identification and resolution
  • Experience integrating cybersecurity solutions into information systems and associated processes
  • Splunk hands-on preferred
  • Basic experience in database configuration, management, and maintenance. Postgres preferred
  • Basic Windows System Administration (Server 2016+/Win10+) experience and/or RHEL 8+ (hybrid classified/on-prem physical and virtual environments)
Typical Education/Experience

Expert, Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay Range: (Expert – Level 3): $112,200 - $151,800
