Job summary

The junior specialist will participate in publishable research focusing on host immune responses to both infectious disease and cancer. This research will use a very broad variety of research techniques in molecular biology and virology as well as spectroscopy and machine learning.

The candidate must exhibit exceptional organizational and interpersonal communication skills and must be willing to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a biological science field is required.
• Previous laboratory experience is required.
• Knowledge of immunology, cancer, and virology is preferred.
• Experience with flow cytometry, PBMC isolation, and cell culture is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform experimental research including PBMC isolation, intracellular cytokine staining, and flow cytometry.
• Catalog and maintain the lab biorepository using Freezerworks software.
• Assist with data analysis, figure generation, and manuscript preparation.
• Lab management tasks including ordering supplies and maintaining safety/training records.
