Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is a leading provider of clinical laboratory testing for the diagnosis and management of disease, working with healthcare providers and patients to create a healthier world. The Associate Medical Director for Immunology will provide leadership for the Immunology Department at the Nichols Institute in San Juan Capistrano, a center of excellence within Quest Diagnostics.

The role involves collaboration with Medical Directors, senior laboratory management, and subspecialty teams

Qualifications

• MD or PhD required.
• Two-five years of relevant experience in Clinical Immunology.
• NY State CoQ holder in Immunology and related areas preferred or MD or ability to obtain CoQs.
• Knowledge of clinical lab operations, immunology testing, and regulatory pathways.
• Strong communicator who can bridge clinical expertise with business needs.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Passion for improving patient care through science and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee testing at the Nichols Institute in San Juan Capistrano for allergic and autoimmune disorders and related immunology testing.
• Provide consultation to healthcare providers and colleagues regarding immunology testing and interpretation of results.
• Review immunology procedures and suggest changes to improve assay performance, sensitivity, specificity, efficiency and turnaround time.
• Develop a strategy for short- and long-term immunology assay development in collaboration with Scientific Directors.
• Participate in quality management, proficiency testing, and education within the Immunology department.
