Job summary

Eurofins USA PSS Insourcing Solutions seeks a scientist to support a Neuroscience Biomarkers client team. You will gain hands-on experience with immunoassay workflows applied to serum, plasma, CSF, and tissue biomarker studies in a fast-paced research setting.

The role involves developing and validating immunoassay methods (ELISA, MSD), analyzing clinical samples, and reporting results on-site at Boston, MA; eligibility requires a B.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related life sciences with at least 3 years ELISA/MSD experience.
• Strong understanding of immunoassay principles, biomarker quantification, and assay validation.
• Experience with human/animal specimens under BSL-2 safety conditions.

Responsibilities

• Analyses as part of development and validation of novel immunoassay-based biomarker methods for clinical trials in neurodegenerative diseases.
• Work with project team leads to perform experiments supporting preclinical and clinical biomarker evaluation of therapeutic molecules.
• Assist with planning and execution of immunoassay method development, optimization, validation, and sample analyses from various preclinical and clinical cohorts.
• Work directly on-site with methods in the laboratory and summarize/report method status for internal partners.
• Implement assay validation procedures to deliver high-performance biomarker assays for preclinical and clinical analyses.

Job Description

The position will support a Neuroscience Biomarkers client team that is responsible for immunoassay-based methods to identify and quantify biomarkers associated with neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. We are looking for a motivated scientist eager to gain hands-on experience in immunoassay workflows applied to serum, plasma, CSF, sample lysate and tissue biomarker studies, and to grow their technical skills in a collaborative, fast-moving research environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyses as part of the development and validation of novel immunoassay-based biomarker methods, as well as applications of these methods for clinical trials in neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, and rare brain disorders.
• Work with project team leads and other associates to perform experiments to support both the preclinical and clinical characterization and evaluation of therapeutic molecules through biomarker assay development.
• Assist with the planning and execution of immunoassay method developments, method optimization and validation, as well as sample analyses from different preclinical samples sets and clinical cohorts.
• Work directly on‑site with methods in the laboratory, and with summarizing and reporting method status of results for internal partners.
• Implement assay validation procedures to deliver high-performance biomarker assays for preclinical and clinical sample analyses.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

_ Basic Minimum Qualifications:_

• B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related life sciences field with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience utilizing ELISA and MSD.
• Strong understanding of the principles for immunoassays (e.g. antibodies and other ligand-based molecules, assay design), protein biomarker quantification, and assay validation.
• Hands‑on experience in protein biomarker applications (e.g. clinical diagnostics, clinical trials, or preclinical sample analysis).
• Experience working with human or animal specimens (tissue and biofluids such as plasma, serum, and CSF) under BSL-2 or equivalent safety conditions.

_ Preferred Qualifications:_

• Experience with clinical sample analysis using immunoassay methods.
• Additional qualitative (e.g. electrophoresis techniques, Western blot) and quantitative (e.g. Ella, Simoa, NULISA, SpearBio) immunoassay-based analyses.
• Experience with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI), and/or Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) validation standards.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Additional Information

The position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8am‑5pm with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Boston, MA are encouraged to apply.
