Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is hiring a Research Technician II for Acute and Critical Care Surgery to support immune function studies in critically ill patients. You will run assays (ELISA, ELISpot, Luminex) on human blood samples, maintain biobank samples, and document data in lab records.

Weekend or holiday shifts may be required to ensure 7-day coverage. The ideal candidate has up to one year of lab experience; a Bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
• No specific certification/professional license required.
• No specific work experience required for this position.
• Must be able to wear PPE and handle biological/chemical hazards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with research studies, experiments and assays and data collection.
• Perform data entry and maintain data files.
• Prepare tissue cultures, reagents, and maintain lab equipment.
• Perform data entry and maintain data files for research projects.
• Help with general lab maintenance and cleaning; adhere to safety rules.
• Occasional weekend/holiday shifts to ensure 7 day coverage.
