Job summary

The United States Attorneys' Offices seeks a Paralegal Specialist (Civil Immigration) to be located in Beaumont, Plano, Sherman, or Tyler, TX. This is a term position not-to-exceed Sep 30, 2029, with potential extension or conversion.

Duties include reviewing complex factual material, drafting and organizing legal documents, organizing discovery for trials, and performing legal research in immigration matters. Eligibility requires U.S.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience: 1 year at GS-7 level in federal service.
• Education: Master's degree or 2 years of graduate education in related field.
• Combining Education and Experience may be used to meet total requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review and organize complex factual material for investigations and trials.
• Prepare legal documents including briefs, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and other documentation for immigration cases.
• Analyze reports, testimonies, interviews and files.
• Cite-checking legal briefs for authority and accuracy of citations.
• Prepare and organize discovery materials and trial exhibits.
• Develop and enter case material into computer databases.
• Perform specialized legal research in support of immigration cases.
