Job summary

Erie Neighborhood House is seeking a full-time Paralegal (40 hours per week) based in Chicago, IL. The role reports to the Supervising Attorney and supports the Legal Services department with immigration-related casework.

Responsibilities include client intake, case note entries, data entry, and assisting attorneys in preparing applications. Proficiency in English and Spanish is required, with a strong focus on confidentiality and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Written and oral fluency in English/Spanish is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Prior legal research or paralegal experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, oral, communication, and written skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow legal/ethical rules.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, take messages, receive client documents, and assist the public.
• Enter data in online case management database and update case notes.
• Schedule appointments for legalRepresentatives and collect fees.
• Conduct client interviews and gather information for immigration matters.
• Prepare immigration applications under supervision and assist with filing.
