Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field; advanced legal education a plus.
- LL.M. or equivalent legal education preferred; immigration experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on immigration laws, regulations, court decisions, and agency guidance.
- Draft legal memoranda, case summaries, statements of issues, and other documents.
- Assist attorneys with drafting and reviewing petitions, motions, pleadings, briefs, and supporting docs.
- Review case filings and evidence for accuracy and completeness.
- Proofread legal documents and citations for accuracy.
- Monitor changes in immigration law and procedures affecting active cases.
- Assist with case preparation and hearings as needed.
- Track deadlines and docketing to ensure timely progression of cases.
- Communicate with attorneys, staff, and court personnel regarding filings and status.
- Maintain accurate calendars and case-management records.
- Organize and verify case files and supporting documents.
