Job summary

New Fairfield Public Schools is seeking a Per Diem Substitute Teacher for New Fairfield Elementary. Immediate starting date with pay of $125 per day and district-wide coverage. This role supports classrooms in the absence of the regularly assigned teacher and requires adherence to approved lesson plans and district policies.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and CT teaching certification is preferred. Background checks and pre-employment requirements must be completed successfully.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in accordance with Connecticut substitute-teacher requirements; Connecticut teaching certification preferred.
• Candidates who do not hold a bachelor's degree may be considered only if eligible for an approved state waiver.
• Ability to work effectively with students and staff across grade levels.
• Strong communication, classroom-management, and organizational skills.
• Successful completion of all required background checks and pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regularly assigned teacher.
• Follow lesson plans, maintain a safe and productive learning environment, manage student behavior, and comply with all district policies and procedures.
