In the 2026-27 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.

KIPP Bold City High School:9th - 12th grade

For the currentschool year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

K-8 Staff:7:30am - 4:30pmK-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm,Wednesday K-8dismissal is at 1:30pm

High School Staff:6:45am - 3:45pm,High School Students:7:15am - 2:30pm,Wednesday High Schooldismissal is at 12:30pm.

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks academic interventionists who will focus on math for students at a K-8 school. The interventionist focuses on supporting students as an extra layer of support beyond their core academic instruction. The interventionist role includes but is not limited to, pulling small groups, tracking academic progress, ensuring students are accessing blended learning pieces that support their growth, partnering with classroom teachers to ensure student interventions are effective, and other duties as assigned.

All teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing our curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with our families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their School Leader.

Depending on the grade levels the interventionist works with, the model and schedule can vary slightly.
While KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools does employ academic interventionists in our schools, we are aiming to expand our support with Title 1 funding. This role is funded by Title 1 resources.

Our current starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000

Qualifications

Requirements of the position include:

Bachelor's Degree

Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Equivalent (K-6 Elementary Education OR Middle Grades 5-9 Math)

At least two years of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom

Ability to demonstrate results from small group instruction

ESOL endorsement or one 60-point workshop completed in Florida

Additional certifications in ESE K-12

Three or more years of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
