Job summary

FirstLight Home Care of Sandy Springs is seeking an experienced Weekend Caregiver to provide one-on-one care for a 90-year-old gentleman living in an assisted living community in Buckhead, Atlanta. The role offers weekend hours (Saturday and Sunday) from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM with compassionate, person-centered care.

Responsibilities include personal care, grooming, mobility support, meal setup, and maintaining a safe, clean living environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience caring for elderly clients preferred.
• CNA/PCA/HHA or professional caregiving experience preferred.
• Experience with toileting, grooming, mobility, and fall prevention.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one companionship and personal care.
• Assist with grooming and daily hygiene.
• Assist with toileting as needed.
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention for a client using a walker.
• Make bed and maintain a clean living space.
• Perform light housekeeping and dusting.
• Clean and disinfect bathroom.
• Empty trash and maintain a sanitary environment.
• Organize and supervise fridge contents.
• Assist with meal setup and serving food.

About the Client

Our client is a 90-year-old gentleman who uses a walker for mobility. He requires assistance with personal care, grooming, toileting, meal setup, and maintaining a clean, comfortable living environment.

We're looking for someone who is attentive, patient, reliable, and experienced in supporting older adults while encouraging their independence and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one companionship and personal care.
• Assist with grooming and daily hygiene.
• Provide toileting assistance as needed.
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention while using a walker.
• Make the client's bed and maintain a tidy living space.
• Perform light dusting and general housekeeping.
• Clean and disinfect the bathroom.
• Empty trash and maintain a sanitary environment.
• Clean and organize the refrigerator as needed.
• Assist with opening food containers, meal setup, and serving food.
• Communicate changes or concerns promptly to the FirstLight office and care team.

Bathing assistance is not required during these weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with elderly clients strongly preferred.
• CNA, PCA, HHA, or professional caregiving experience preferred.
• Experience assisting with toileting, grooming, mobility, and fall prevention.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and professional.
• Comfortable working in an assisted living community.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must be available every Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
