ActiveCare Physical Therapy, PC is an outpatient private practice in midtown Manhattan, owned and operated by Physical Therapist Karena Wu. The clinic emphasizes high-quality, evidence-informed care whole body approach using advanced manual therapy and sports-specific rehabilitation techniques. Treatment sessions are one-on-one in a comfortable, spacious studio, allowing for individualized care and focused attention. Services include joint and soft tissue mobilizations, adjunct manual therapies, McConnell and Kinesiology taping, Pilates-based training, and functional training to support safe and efficient recovery.

Role Description

This full-time, on-site Evening/Weekend Outpatient Physical Therapist role is based in New York, NY. The Physical Therapist will provide direct patient care with a focus on advanced manual therapy, sports-specific rehabilitation, and individualized treatment planning for a diverse outpatient caseload. Training onsite and a desire to learn and grow with private practice preferred. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing and progressing treatment plans, delivering hands-on interventions, and guiding patients through therapeutic exercise and functional training. The role also involves documenting care in accordance with professional and regulatory standards, collaborating with other team members, educating patients on injury prevention and home exercise programs, and contributing to the clinic’s positive and professional environment during evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Licensed or license-eligible Physical Therapist in the state of New York; Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
• Strong clinical skills in outpatient orthopedics, manual therapy techniques, and sports rehabilitation, with the ability to design individualized treatment plans.
• Demonstrated ability to perform thorough evaluations, document clearly and accurately, and maintain compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based setting.
• Comfort working evening and weekend hours on-site in a busy outpatient environment, with strong time management and organizational skills.
• Experience or interest in taping techniques, Pilates-based training, and functional training is preferred; relevant continuing education or certifications are a plus.
• CPR certification and adherence to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory patient care practices.
