Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse Inpatient to provide comprehensive nursing care for acutely ill patients in a fast-paced setting. The role requires coordination with physicians, families and a multidisciplinary team to deliver individualized plans of care.

You'll participate in governance, ensure evidence-based practice, and maintain nursing competencies through ongoing education and training.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong analytic abilities.
• ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of employment start.
• Additional ER/Pediatric ER/Non-Invasive Cardiology requirements may apply within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, designs and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress.
• Directs care and determines appropriate use of any assistants.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents care plan and communications.
• Participates in shared governance, committees and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions and updates care plans accordingly.
• Utilizes best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
