Job summary

Cornell University Hospital for Animals in Ithaca, NY seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Radiology Technician to join the Imaging section. You will image diverse large and small animals, guide DVM students and house officers, and expand your skills into CT, MRI and nuclear medicine as your radiography experience grows.

You will work with radiologists and engineers, manage PACS, and participate in a dynamic, growth‑minded environment aimed at advancing veterinary education and patient care.

Qualifications

• AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program or ARRT certification with 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• New York State licensure or eligibility to be licensed.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing.

Responsibilities

• Work with board‑certified radiologists and residents to teach image acquisition and quality control to DVM students.
• Image a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits and bearded dragons.
• Learn and perform non‑radiographic modalities such as nuclear medicine, CT and MRI as skills mature.
• Complete imaging orders and manage PACS for a busy caseload including ultrasounds, CT, MRI and nuclear medicine.
• Collaborate with biomedical engineers to maintain and replace diagnostic imaging equipment.
• Contribute to the future of veterinary care and education through collaboration with specialty services.
