Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Certified Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent (EMT, LPN, completion of one year of nursing school program which includes two semesters of clinical practice; military corps person) or minimum of 1 year experience as Radiology Assistant/Aide or currently enrolled in a degree program in Radiologic Technology.
• Current BLS certification.
• Successful completion of CPI training within 6 months of hire and maintain recertification annually.

Responsibilities

• Assist Radiology/Radiation Team in maintaining department schedule, transport patients, and prepare rooms and equipment.
• Transport patients for imaging/treatment areas as directed and assist as required.
• Assist in turnover of rooms, stock Exposure Rooms, start procedures, transfer patients and support patients for radiographic/radiation procedures.
• Restock substerile/utility areas and handle delicate, expensive equipment.
• Maintain equipment storeroom and assist on-call technologists during evening/night hours.
• Verify patient identification and communicate status of examinations to patients.
• Process digital images as requested by providers to CD/DVD format.
• Assist orientation of new personnel to the unit under management supervision.
• Represent the hospital professionally and maintain confidentiality.
