Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Imaging Specialist Manager to plan and execute the imaging components of global clinical trials. You will manage the operational imaging strategy, plan risk assessment and mitigation, and drive execution across all phases from study start‑up to close‑out in oncology and non‑oncology programs.

You will collaborate with the Imaging Scientist Team, ensure data quality and vendor management, and uphold regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate or equivalent in life sciences or related field.
  • Advanced degree with relevant clinical trial imaging experience.
  • Experience leading global teams in biotech or pharma.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

In this vital role you will plan and execute the operational aspects of clinical trials globally. You will manage and coordinate the operational imaging strategy, plan, risk assessment, mitigation, and execution for oncology and non‑oncology clinical trials across all phases from study start‑up to close‑out.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the quality and scientific integrity of imaging‑related elements in clinical trials
  • Working with the Imaging Scientist Team within Clinical Biomarkers & Diagnostics to enable E2E Imaging specialist support throughout the portfolio
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert, advising Clinical Program Operations (CPO), and other Global Development Operations (GDO) functions, on best practices, ensuring consistent standards and key lessons learned are applied across the portfolio for continuous improvement and maximum impact of the solutions
  • Build global cross‑functional relationships and collaborate with clinical teams to integrate imaging into trials and update senior management

Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree Or
  • Master's degree and 2 years experience Or
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years experience Or
  • Associate’s degree and 8 years experience Or
  • High school diploma / GED & 10 years experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA/BS/BSc
  • 7 years work experience in life sciences or medically related field, including 4 years of biopharmaceutical clinical research experience obtained working on clinical trials in a biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO company
  • Minimum 5 years experience in leading global teams
  • Experience with operationalizing clinical studies with imaging elements and Imaging vendor management
Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of drug development process, clinical trial conduct, ICH-GCP and local regulations, requirements, and guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of the clinical trial process, including regulations, patient recruitment, feasibility, business operation and the associated supportive vendors and technologies preferred.
  • Good understanding of quality oversight and process improvement
  • Project and Program management including oversight of quality, study deliverables and timelines
  • Ability to network and build relationships cross‑functionally
  • Various therapeutic area knowledge

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) $98,125-132,757.

Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
