Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso seeks a Medical Physicist to lead and manage the Imaging Services Department. You will develop policies, supervise staff, and coordinate programs to enhance diagnostic imaging quality and patient safety.

The role requires Texas licensure, board certification or progress toward certification, and at least one year of physicist experience, preferably in Texas. You will collaborate with administrative teams and participate in budgeting and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Physics or Radiation Biology is required.
  • Texas Medical Physicist License is required.
  • Board certification by ABR/ABMP or working toward certification is preferred.
  • One year of experience as a physicist is required, preferably in Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs and manages the Imaging Services Department.
  • Develops and evaluates goals, policies, and procedures for diagnostic imaging.
  • Provides staff support to hospital management and supervises staff.
  • Participates in budgeting for the department and monitors expenditures.
  • Leads development and monitoring of department systems to improve patient care.
  • Serves as the organization’s Radiation Safety Officer.
