Job summary

US Oncology Inc. in Pleasant Hill, CA, is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technician to perform diagnostic PET imaging procedures under supervision, including radiopharmaceutical injections, protocol setup, patient positioning, and image processing, while maintaining safety standards and QA.

The role supports scheduling, data management, and collaboration with Medical Director and management on equipment performance and compliance with the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or from an AMA accredited program or Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology from an AMA accredited program and PET-CT certification.
• Minimum three to five years’ experience in nuclear medicine and/or previous PET experience preferred.
• CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT (N) certification and state licensure where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic PET imaging procedures including radiopharmaceutical injection, IV contrast, protocol setup, patient positioning, reconstruction and archiving of image data.
• Assists in procedure scheduling and related front office functions to ensure smooth workflow.
• Ensures accuracy of patient demographics, report distribution and patient files.
• Assists with collection of clinical data for follow-up and educational information.
• Maintains safety standards and conducts daily QC measures to monitor scanner performance.
• Reports malfunctions and/or need for service to the proper company or facility.
• Responsible for patient data and films including printing, archiving, retrieval and network transfers.

ANNUAL SALARY (DEPENDING ON SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): $66.00 - $91.00

SCOPE: Under general supervision, performs PET imaging procedures and related functions.Collaborates with Medical Director and management on technical issues, equipment performance and QA. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program,to includethe Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs diagnostic PETimaging procedures toincludeinjection of radio- pharmaceutical and/or IV contrast, theadministration of oral contrast, protocol setup, patient positioning, reconstruction and filming of images, network image transfers, and archiving of image data.
• Assistsin procedure scheduling and related front office functions toensure smooth workflow.
• Ensures accuracy of patient demographic information, report distribution and patient files.
• Assistswith the collection of clinical data for patient follow-up and development of teaching and educational information.
• Provides protection forpatientand selfin accordance withprescribed safety standards.Conducts daily quality control measures tomonitorscanner performance.
• Reports all malfunctions and/or need for service to the proper company or facility.
• Responsible for patient data and filmsincludingprinting, archiving, retrieval, network data transfers, tracking and logging of loaned films and requested outside films.
• Understands the contraindications associated with the administration of IV contrast, be able to recognizepossible reactionsand know the procedure to follow in the case of a reaction.
• Ordering of necessary office, medical,printing,and archiving media.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Level 1

• Associates orBachelor’sdegree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or from an AMA accredited program or Associates orBachelor’sdegree in Radiologic Technology from an AMA accredited program and PET-CT certification.
• Minimum three to fiveyears’ experiencein nuclear medicine and/orpreviousPET experience preferred.
• General knowledge of patient scheduling and billing systems.
• CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT (N) certification and state licensure where applicable.

Level 2 (in addition to level 1 requirements)

• Minimum fiveyears’ experiencein nuclear medicine including at least two yearspreviousPET ornuclear medical experience.

Level Sr (in addition to level 1 and 2 requirements)

• Bachelor’sdegree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiologic Technology, or from an AMA accredited program.
• Minimum four years nuclear medicalPET experience.
