Responsibilities

Summary: This position provides specialized repair (radiology, nuclear medicine) and maintenance services to diagnostic imaging and/or laboratory equipment, and biomedical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. In addition to duties of Field Service Specialist I, performs repair and maintenance on intermediate imaging equipment, such as Digital Radiography units, basic CT, CT Sim, basic oncology, and Vascular/Specials systems more than 60% of the time.
  2. Utilizes training opportunities to significantly reduce contract dependency for the same equipment.
  3. Functions as a leader in the Clinical Engineering department, providing oversight and assistance to FSS, for the efficient and cost-effective repair and maintenance of imaging equipment.
  4. Handles all service emergencies and communicates effectively with Vendors, Departments, and the CE Manager.
  5. Assists in ordering parts and supplies necessary for servicing Diagnostic Imaging and Biomedical equipment.
  6. Supports the CE Manager during their absence by providing coverage and support.
  7. Provides input to the CE Manager regarding new service opportunities within the serviced locations.
  8. Provides service cost history to the CE Manager, focusing on Contract vs. Time and Material costs to reduce service expenses.
  9. May also provide repair and maintenance of general biomedical equipment as a secondary responsibility or as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering, related field, equivalent military education, technical program graduate, or equivalent training validated through certificates or experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience servicing medical imaging equipment such as General X-Ray (Rad, including Rad Rooms, Portables, and C-Arms).
  • Ability to repair and maintain a wide variety of imaging equipment.
  • Current CRES certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
