Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking an Imaging Assistant - CT to provide advanced clinical and clerical support in the Imaging department. The role includes patient screening, remote monitoring during MRI when off-unit, and assisting technologists throughout the procedure.

Ideal candidates have Paramedic, LPN, or Rad Tech background with recent cardiac monitoring experience and strong patient communication skills. This is a full-time on-site position at Piedmont Henry Hospital.

Qualifications

• Paramedic certification or LPN license or active enrollment in a 2nd year Radiologic Technology program.
• Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required as a base credential.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and prep them for imaging procedures and remote monitoring.
• Transport patients and verify identity using two identifiers.
• Assist with CT imaging setup and contrast administration under supervision.
• Maintain supplies and coordinate with remote technologists during scans.
• Monitor telemetry during exams and initiate emergency response if needed.
• Complete exam data entry accurately at the end of each study.

Imaging Assistant - CT, Days

Overview:

This position provides advanced technical, clinical and clerical support within the Imaging department. Responsibilities include managing patient flow, conducting patient screening, assisting patients during procedures, maintaining supplies, and supporting technologists as needed. This role also includes remote cardiac monitoring for patients undergoing MRI when they are off nursing units.

Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction & Prep

• Transports Patient
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers.
• Complete and document pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent)
• Educate patients about the procedure and address questions
• Communicate readiness to remote technologist
• Monitor telemetry patients during exam

Physical Setup

• Position the patient correctly on the scanner table
• Prepare positioning aids
• Loads contrast injector

Contrast Administration

• Place and manage IV lines
• Administer contrast or medications under direct supervision
• Monitor for adverse reactions and initiate emergency response if needed

Emergency Readiness

• Initiate BLS protocols if required
• Escalate to on-site technologists, physician or EMS per facility protocol

Communication

• Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan

Qualifications:

Education

• Paramedic - High school diploma/GED and a graduate of an accredited paramedic program. Required or
• LPN - High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited LPN program. Required or
• 2nd Year Rad Tech - High school diploma or GED Required

Work Experience

• Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN Required
• Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation Required
