Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking an Image Quality Validation Engineer for Camera Hardware in Cupertino, CA. The role focuses on validating image quality across components and systems, developing metrics and algorithms, and driving refinements from prototype to production.

You will lead cross-functional efforts, analyze data, and present results to executives, contributing to next-generation camera performance in Apple products.

Qualifications

  • BS in EE, Optics, Color Science or equivalent.
  • Experience with Matlab and/or Python programming skills.
  • Experience with working in an optical lab.
  • Experience with bench or tester automation of data acquisition.
  • MS/PhD in EE, Optics, Color Science or equivalent and 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of image quality metrics and evaluation methodology.
  • Experience with deep learning for image segmentation, object recognition and abnormal detection.
  • Experience with camera components and functions.
  • Experience with camera ISP pipeline and 3A.
  • Experience with megapixel CMOS image sensor technology, lens selection and qualification.
  • Experience with objective camera bench testing and subjective image quality analysis.

Responsibilities

Description

The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for all research, design, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. This team is seeking an exceptional Camera Image Quality Validation Engineer with responsibilities for ongoing evaluation, benchmarking and characterization of Apple camera products.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
