Job summary

Daifuku North America is seeking a welder for full-time on 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 5:00am–1:30pm) at our Hobart, IN facility. You will join metal fabrication teams, read blueprints, select welding processes, and produce sound welds meeting specifications.

Must have at least 1 year welding experience and a high school diploma or equivalent; an welding certificate/AA is preferred. Strong safety and quality focus required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Certificate or Associate degree in welding
• Minimum 1 year experience welding
• Ability to read blueprints
• English language proficiency required

Responsibilities

• Operate welding machine and feed wire to bond materials
• Plan work by interpreting blueprints
• Determine welding position and metal type to be fused
• Set up welding equipment
• Ensure welds meet standards and specifications
• Comply with Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Welders join metal parts using high heat application to form permanent bonds.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operating welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials
• Planning work by interpreting blueprints
• Determining welding position and type of metal to be fused
• Selecting and setting up welding equipment
• Ensuring welds meet standards and specifications
• Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Certificate or Associate degree in welding
• Minimum 1 year experience in welding

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements

• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Team orientation
• Crane operation experience preferred, but not required
• Forklift operation experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

ADA Requirements

• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
