Job summary

Lab Mgr at Nationwide Children’s Hospital oversees daily operations and compliance of the Laboratory of Vascular & Matrix Genetics (LVMG) in Columbus, OH. You will supervise staff, manage resources, and lead independent projects to advance scientific aims while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

You will train and mentor new lab members, support a PI’s research, and engage in rigorous data analysis, publication-ready figures with BioRender, and advanced imaging workflows.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in biosciences or related field required.
• 3+ years of professional experience, including laboratory operations management.
• Experience with molecular biology workflows and imaging techniques (brightfield, fluorescence, confocal).
• Data analysis and creating publication-ready figures; proficiency with BioRender and statistics software.
• 2+ years managing large mouse colonies; 1+ year cell culture workflow experience.
• In vivo procedures including tissue collection and multi-route injections; behavioral and metabolic phenotyping.
• Image processing using Prism, R, and ImageJ/Fiji; experience with sequencing data analysis.
• Collaborative experience on multi-disciplinary research teams in matrix/elastin biology.

Job description

Lab Mgr, Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, OH. Oversee daily operations, research activities & compliance of Laboratory of Vascular & Matrix Genetics (LVMG). Ensure smooth lab function, maintain high research quality & safety standards & support Principal Investigator (PI) in advancing scientific aims. Supervise technical staff, manage resources, lead independent projects, & provide training & mentorship to new lab members. Manage lab operations.

Min. req incl: Master’s in Bio Sci, Biochemical, or Med Technology, plus 3 yrs prof exp, incl 3 yrs exp w/: lab ops mgmt; molecular biology workflow; histology, IHC, IF, & imaging techniques (e.g., brightfield, fluorescence, confocal); performing data analysis, creating publication-ready fig using BioRender & presenting results; & using stat software; 2 yrs exp managing large mouse colonies; 1 yr exp w/: cell culture workflow; performing in vivo procedures incl tissue collection, multi-route injections, & behavioral & metabolic phenotyping; image processing using advanced platforms (Prism, R, & ImageJ/Fiji); & working in clin trials; 6 mo exp w/: performing sequencing data analysis; & working on multi-disciplinary research team in matrix/elastin biology.
