Job summary

JLL is seeking an IFM Retail Director to lead North America’s largest retail facilities portfolio. This remote leadership role oversees 10+ million square feet across 1,800+ retail sites and builds a geographically diverse team of facilities and engineering professionals delivering mission-critical services to a premier client.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• “10+ years of experience managing retail facilities with proven managerial experience.”
• Strong client relationship management and strategic thinking with execution capabilities.

• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities; forward-thinking mindset.
• Experience with retail banking or similar geographically distributed small-site portfolios.
• Strong financial acumen; understanding of commercial leases and contract documents.
• Familiarity with building systems, CMMS, Microsoft Office and use of AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee service delivery for the entire retail portfolio, ensuring all facilities services meet contract requirements, performance standards, and client expectations.
• Lead and develop management-level staff across geographically dispersed teams, providing coaching and succession planning.
• Manage vendor relationships and performance to ensure third-party services are delivered as per contract terms and quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives including cost savings programs, benchmarking, best practices, and innovation leveraging JLL’s platform.
• Ensure KPI and SLA achievement across all account metrics while adhering to governance and compliance requirements.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through superior support and regular communication.
• Manage financial operations including budgeting, monthly reporting, invoice approvals, and contract negotiations.
• Champion workplace excellence by advocating diversity and inclusion and upholding JLL’s values.

IFM Retail Director

This role offers full remote flexibility with strategic travel up to 30%, with a strong preference for candidates based in the Midwest region.

Here is some of what your day will look like:

• Ensure KPI and SLA achievement across all account metrics while maintaining strict adherence to governance processes and compliance requirements
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through superior support, regular communication, and exceptional service quality as measured by client feedback and satisfaction scores
• Manage financial operations including annual budgeting, monthly budget performance reporting, invoice approvals, contract negotiations, and third-party spend oversight
• Champion workplace excellence by advocating for diversity and inclusion, maintaining safety standards, and upholding JLL’s core values of Teamwork, Ethics, and Excellence

Here is who we are looking for:

• A bachelor degree or higher
• 10+ years of experience specifically managing retail facilities, with proven managerial experience required as this role will manage a team of Senior Managers
• Strong client relationship management, strategic thinking with execution capabilities, independent leadership with excellent organizational and multitasking skills, outstanding communication and presentation abilities, and a forward-thinking mindset that drives innovation and transformation
• Strong retail banking or similar geographically distributed small site portfolio experience, capable of managing high-touch, brand focused, and specialty spaces
• Strong financial acumen, clear understanding of commercial leases, and contract documents
• Familiarity with building systems, CMMSs, Microsoft Office and utilization of AI tools
• Superior financial skills and budgeting/forecasting

Estimated compensation for this position:

162,000.00 – 199,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
