Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit IEP documents in accordance with IDEA, Ohio requirements, and district policies.
  • Collaborate with Intervention Specialists, related service providers, and teachers to collect data and develop goals, accommodations, and services.
  • Review student records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare PLAAFP statements and measurable annual goals aligned to standards and student needs.
  • Coordinate and document input from parents, students, and team members.
  • Ensure timelines for IEP development, revisions, and amendments are met.
  • Enter finalized IEPs into the district SIS and verify data accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to district ethics standards.

  • Position Type: Student Services/ Intervention Specialist

The IEP Writer supports the district in preparing high-quality, compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. This position requires an active Ohio Teacher's License as an Intervention Specialist. For current employees, duties must be completed outside of regular work hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Draft and edit IEP documents in accordance with federal IDEA, Ohio Department of Education regulations, and district policies.
  • Collaborate with Intervention Specialists, related service providers, and general education teachers to collect student data and develop appropriate goals, accommodations, andservices.
  • Review student records (evaluation reports, progress data, prior IEPs) to ensure accuracy andcompliance.
  • Preparepresentlevelsofacademic achievementandfunctionalperformance(PLAAFP) statementsandmeasurable annual goals aligned to standards and studentneeds.
  • Coordinateanddocumentinputfromparents,students(asappropriate),andteammembers.
  • Ensuretimelines forIEPdevelopment, revisions,andamendmentsaremet.

  • Maintainconfidentialityofstudentinformationandadheretodistrictethicalstandards.
