Job summary

ELS Houston - ELS Language Center is seeking a Certified IELTS Examiner to conduct one-to-one interviews with IELTS candidates to assess their spoken English according to set requirements. The role is based in Houston, Texas, with weekend availability.

The position requires a TESOL qualification and an undergraduate or higher degree, and prior TESOL teaching experience with adults. You will maintain confidentiality and adhere to the IELTS Code of Practice, with standardization training as needed.

• Examine test takers on Saturdays and Sundays.

Description:

• Examine test takers on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Maintain confidentiality and security in all aspects of IELTS.
• Comply fully with the Examiner Code of Practice and IELTS Confidentiality Undertaking
• Undertake scheduled standardization training and re-certification
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:

• A recognized qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other
  Languages (TESOL) or recognized equivalent as part of a recognized
  university award course.
• An undergraduate or master’s degree or a qualification which can be
  demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate or master’s degree.

Education and Experience Required

• At least 3 years’ full time (or the equivalent part time) relevant TESOL teaching
  experience (minimum one-year post-certificate level qualification).
• The majority of teaching experience must be with adult students aged 16 and over.
