Job summary

Guardian Life Insurance is seeking an Identity Governance & Administration Lead to drive hands-on IGA initiatives within a highly regulated environment. You will coordinate with HR, legal, cybersecurity, and application teams to deliver scalable identity solutions, including provisioning and access reviews.

You will partner with IAM/IGA teams to implement governance models, leverage tools like SailPoint/CyberArk/OKTA, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity.
  • 5+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) with strong exposure to IGA.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or supporting IGA capabilities such as lifecycle management, provisioning, and access certifications.
  • Experience integrating IAM solutions with enterprise systems and applications (e.g., SailPoint, CyberArk).
  • Experience with identity lifecycle processes, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and RBAC.
  • Strong understanding of identity security principles: least privilege, Zero Trust, access governance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve IGA hands-on leader, managing vendors and KPIs/KRIs for IGA controls.
  • Lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of identity governance capabilities.
  • IGA/IAM enterprise control monitoring, reporting, analytics, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with AI Business, Digital and Technology to meet requirements for non-human identity capabilities.
  • Design and implement scalable provisioning and deprovisioning across enterprise systems.

Position Overview

Identity Governance & Administration Lead will bring hands-on experience in access governance, identity lifecycle management, and provisioning across a complex, highly regulated environment by managing advanced tasks, enterprise control oversight, and coordinate with Identity & Access Management teams on automation, AI initiatives and projects. Here’s What You’ll Do
  • Serve IGA hands on leader for Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), by managing vendors, to ensure they meet KPIs, KRIs, and have strong understanding of IGA controls – native changes, SOD, offboarding, entitlement reviews, requirements gathering, presentation, communications skills with senior leaders
  • Lead and actively contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of identity governance capabilities, including:
  • IGA/IAM Enterprise control monitoring
  • Reporting, advanced analytics, documentation, and presentations
  • Partnering with AI Business and Digital and Technology teams to build requirements that meet Guardian non-human identity capabilities
  • Design and implement scalable provisioning and deprovisioning solutions across enterprise systems and applications
  • Partner with business stakeholders and application owners to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs and governance models
  • Integrate IAM/IGA solutions with enterprise systems, such as SailPoint, CyberArk, OKTA etc
  • Evaluate the current identity governance landscape, identify gaps, and drive improvements in security, scalability, and user experience
  • Establish and support governance processes aligned with regulatory and audit requirements (e.g., NYDFS, MAR etc), including access reviews and policy enforcement
  • Develop documentation, standards, and runbooks to support consistency, scalability, and audit readiness
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and compliance teams to align identity governance controls with enterprise security strategy
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IAM and identity governance
Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity
  • 5+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM), with strong exposure to Identity Governance & Administration (IGA)
  • Hands‑on experience implementing or supporting IGA capabilities such as lifecycle management, provisioning, and access certifications
  • Experience in integrating IAM solutions with enterprise systems and applications (e.g., SailPoint, CyberArk etc)
  • Experience with identity lifecycle processes, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and role‑based access control
  • Strong understanding of identity security principles, including least privilege, Zero Trust, and access governance
  • Experience working in complex, fast‑paced environments with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience implementing one or more IAM platforms (e.g., SailPoint, CyberArk, OKTA etc)
  • Experience supporting including participation in RFP/RFI processes, vendor evaluations, and proof‑of‑concept (POC) and project activities
  • Familiarity with identity architecture in hybrid environments (on‑prem and cloud)
  • Familiarity with AI Control Plane, MCP, and AI Identity Governance
  • Experience working in regulated environments (SOC2, SOX, NYDFS, Model Audit Rule (MAR) or similar)
  • Strong understanding of identity governance best practices and industry frameworks
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or IAM/IGA‑related certifications
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

  • Three days a week at a Guardian office in New York, NY. or Holmdel, NJ
Salary Range:

$118,980.00 - $195,465.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
