Job summary

Easterseals MORC is seeking an IDD Therapist to provide essential community-based therapy for individuals with developmental disabilities. This role includes individual, family, and group therapy, focusing on creating meaningful therapeutic relationships. Ideal candidates have a Master's degree in relevant fields and a passion for making a difference.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a current license or limited license within their discipline (LLMSW, LMSW, TLLP, LLP, LP, LLPC, LPC).
  • Minimum of two years of experience providing group and individual counseling preferred.

  • Provide assessment, treatment, and monitoring for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Conduct both individual and group therapy sessions.

This is a community-based position that provides individual, family, and group therapy to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) and Behavioral Health conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing group and individual counseling preferred and/or behavioral treatment support to caregivers.

Job Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of this job is to provide assessment and analysis, treatment, training, monitoring and coordination of treatment plans and services to persons with developmental disabilities. In addition, employees also provide individual and group counseling and maintain regular consultation with families and other community agencies.

  • Perform a thorough assessment of functional ability related to behaviors of concern, emotional and social needs, the physical and social environment in which consumers work and reside, the relationships individuals have with their parents, staff, housemates, and family, as well as the individual's physiology.
  • Participates in the Person Centered Planning activities, when needed, to establish the Person Centered Plan and consult with the circle of supports on professional services.
  • Develops support plans (e.g., direct individual or group therapy, skill acquisition plans, staff support plans, preventative strategies, etc.) that facilitate a feeling of being valued, the establishment of meaningful personal relationships, the ability to make meaningful choices based on life experiences, and the acquisition of and the ability to practice new skills.
  • Provides individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Prepare, present and serve on the Behavior Treatment Plan Review Committee.
