Job summary

West Texas Centers is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in Texas. Schedule: Mon–Fri with on-call rotation; salary $70,000 annually plus on-call pay.

You will conduct health assessments, meds reviews, and documentation, and coordinate care. You will supervise LVNs, participate in ISP meetings, travel within the service region, and assist with staff recruitment.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Criminal background check required.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing services in compliance with HHSC, HCS, TxHmL, and GR standards.
• Perform health assessments, annual nursing evaluations, medication reviews, and health monitoring.
• Coordinate medical care, referrals, and follow-up treatment.
• Administer and monitor medications and physician-ordered treatments.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation, reports, and service logs.
• Participate in ISP meetings and interdisciplinary team staffing.
• Conduct staff education and training.
• Provide clinical supervision to LVNs.
• Coordinate medical and non-medical services for IDD recipients.
• Develop nursing procedures and assist with program planning.
• Monitor medical appointments and continuity of care.
• Administer TB skin tests.
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours triage.
• Assist with recruitment and retention of nursing staff.
• Travel throughout the service region as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
