Responsible for all nursing functions at multiple locations. Relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment with limited direction and supervision to accomplish responsibilities. **REPORTS TO:** Regional Nursing Director **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:**This position has no supervisory responsibilities. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.* Observe, assess, and evaluate the health needs of the people we support.* Coordinate preventative and routine medical care for people supported.* Document nursing care provided.* Provide clinical supervision or oversight for licensed practical nurses and med techs as deemed necessary.* Assist with educational and training programs for new employees to include planning, conducting, and scheduling in a timely manner.* Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.* Assist physicians with on-site medical clinics where applicable.* Provide health related training to unlicensed personnel.* Teach medication administration training to unlicensed personnel when state law allows.* Conduct medication pass observations in the home to ensure staff competency.* Complete skill competency checklists on delegated healthcare tasks* Teach the people we serve to monitor their health.* Provide medication administration training to people who are able to self-administer medications.* Audits medication administration* Conduct medication closest assessments.* Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure unlicensed personnel are performing health related tasks as assigned.* Conduct routine nursing assessments.* Observe and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician.* Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team* Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health for the people supported.* Participate in on-call rotations to provide nursing support and address needs outside of regular scheduled hours. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*** Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program* BSN preferred, but not required.* Current registered nurse license with no restrictions to practice nursing.* Possess credentials required by Federal or State law* Must be able to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families.* Must be able to work independently, be organized, and possess the ability to prioritize work tasks.* Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification.* Must be at least 18 years of age **PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:*** Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 20 lbs. and occasionally pull at least 40 lbs.* Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop as part of regular job duties.* Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.* Required to stand and walk for extended periods.* Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from floor level, which requires working on hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting.* Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.* Must be able to talk and hear.* **Exception – Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs: For these programs only, employees must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
