Legacy Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our Lowndes team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting individuals and families throughout South Georgia with compassionate, high-quality behavioral health services.
Under supervision, Direct Support Professionals will provide training and support services to people with developmental disabilities in a 24/7 community residential program. Responsibilities include delivering skills training in daily living and community integration as outlined by the Individual Service Plan, maintaining a clean and sanitary home environment to meet CARF safety regulations, and assisting in coordinating transportation for persons served. Teamwork with fellow staff members is essential to ensure the highest quality of IDD services. Proficiency in computer skills is required. Additionally, the position requires monitoring and documenting persons served progress in treatment. Flexibility to work varying hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
The Direct Support Professional will be supervised by the Site Manager.

Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations. May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in BHSGA or personal vehicle.
Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard are required. The position requires prolonged periods of sitting and the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 45 pounds.
