Job summary

Best Buddies International is seeking an Employment Consultant in the State Operations and Programs team. You will coach individuals with IDD one-on-one through the job search, onboarding, and ongoing training, while handling documentation, compliance, and employer relationships to foster sustainable employment and independence.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of experience, strong interpersonal and presentation skills, familiarity with Office 365, and willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of professional experience; Best Buddies program experience a plus.
• Ability to engage comfortably with individuals with IDD, addressing sensitive topics with empathy and professionalism.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support participants through the job seeking process and onboarding.
• Develop and maintain relationships with participants, families, Vocational Rehabilitation counselors, advocates, and employers.
• Maintain documentation of participant interactions, progress and outcomes in SETWorks for compliance.
• Provide travel training and transportation advocacy to participants.
• Collaborate with the Jobs Program Supervisor on billing records and funding submissions.
• Attend trainings and participate in fundraising and community outreach.
