Job summary

The Lake Oswego School District is seeking a Temporary Elementary Strings (Orchestra) Instructor to provide before-school string instruction for elementary students. The role runs 6:45 am to 8:15 am, Monday through Thursday, totaling 6 hours per week, at a rate of $75 per hour.

The assignment covers Sept through June with no guaranteed length. Candidates must complete pre-employment checks and fingerprinting; orchestra experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must verify identity and employment authorization and pass a fingerprint-based background check.
• Applicant pays fingerprinting ($10–$20) and the verification check (~$70).
• Orchestra experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct elementary strings/orchestra and guide players from beginner to intermediate level.
• Lead rehearsals before school day, 6:45–8:15 am, Monday through Thursday.
• Collaborate with district music staff and ensure attendance and safety.

Special Requirements

The person selected for this position must be able to: verify identity and employment authorization, complete a pre-employment record check and be approved by the State Department of Education after having a Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Verification completed. The selected candidate will pay $10-$20 for a set of fingerprints and $70.00 for the verification check. Orchestra experience preferred.
