Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, seeks a Veterinary ICU Supervisor in Annapolis, MD. The role oversees daily ICU operations, staffing, and patient flow, collaborating with surgeons and departments to ensure high-quality critical care.

The ideal candidate is a Maryland-registered veterinary technician with 3+ years of experience, including supervisory exposure, and strong leadership and communication skills to lead a busy ICU team.

Qualifications

• Maryland RVT preferred.
• Minimum of three years of veterinary technician experience.
• Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in emergency/critical care/surgical nursing preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Composure in high-acuity environments.
• Commitment to staff development and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily ICU operations based on patient volume and priorities.
• Assign staff based on competency and scope of practice.
• Monitor ICU admissions, transfers and workload.
• Identify safety, equipment, or workflow concerns and elevate as needed.
• Maintain communication among ICU staff and other departments.
• Support compliance with policies and documentation requirements.
• Lead staffing plans and schedule adjustments.
• Foster a positive, professional and collaborative work environment.
• Coordinate training and ensure competency documentation.
• Perform ICU technical duties and assist with monitoring and escalation.
